The General Tax Authority (GTA) announced the tax return period for the year 2022 to no later than April 30, 2023.
In a statement on Sunday, the authority said on the provisions of Law No. (24) of 2018 Promulgating the Income Tax Law, the submission of the tax return for the tax year ending on Dec. 31, 2022, must be no later than April 30, 2023, for all entities subject to this law, whether it is companies or establishments owned by Qatari citizens, from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, exempt from income tax, or owners of companies in which there is a foreign partner, through the online tax portal www.dhareeba.qa.
Both types of tax returns can be submitted, the audited one, which is submitted by an auditor registered in the State of Qatar, or the simplified declaration, which is self-submitted by the company, under the following rules and conditions: First: Tax-exempt companies owned by Qatari citizens or citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, whose capital is less than 1 million riyals.Second: Companies whose annual revenues are less than 5 million riyals.
In all cases, all required documents need to be attached when submitting tax returns.
The Authority stressed the necessity of submitting tax returns through the online tax portal to enable various entities to fulfill their tax obligations with ease and add any inquiries and suggestions. GTA’s strategic plan continuously implements and gradually adds services to fully become electronic, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
