Qatar Charity (QC) has renewed its cooperation and partnership agreement with Lulu Hypermarket Qatar.

Under the agreement, Lulu will remain a member of Qatar Charity’s Charity Partner (CP) programme and will support QC’s ‘Ramadan: Leave Your Mark’ campaign through its ‘Shop & Donate’ initiative. Under the agreement, Lulu was awarded the ‘CP’ trademark in the silver category.

The agreement was signed by Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media sector at Qatar Charity, and Shanavas Padiyath, regional manager of Lulu Hypermarket Qatar.

The renewed agreement comes as part of Qatar Charity’s commitment to providing the necessary aid and support to the target groups. It is part of Lulu Hypermarket Qatar’s endeavour to support humanitarian work as a duty towards the community.

Through the agreement, Lulu Hypermarket Qatar will promote the ‘CP’ programme and draw the attention of companies and establishments, through its available marketing methods, towards the programme.

According to the pact, Lulu Hypermarket Qatar will donate a sum of the amount collected through ‘Shop & Donate’, an initiative that is launched by Lulu in Ramadan, which is encompassing more than 800 items for shopping this Ramadan. The share will go to Qatar Charity.

Lulu Hypermarket has recently donated toys for orphans and earthquake-affected children in Turkey and Syria.

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Fakhroo thanked Lulu Hypermarket Qatar for renewing the agreement.

He said Lulu Hypermarket has been a strategic humanitarian partner of Qatar Charity for years and has contributed to the implementation of many humanitarian and charitable activities.

Fakhroo also called on all commercial establishments and companies to join Qatar Charity’s ‘CP’ programme to discharge their social responsibility towards the community and support humanitarian and charitable projects, especially in the holy month to provide a helping hand to those in need around the world.

“We are committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibility (CSR) by actively participating in social responsibility programmes in collaboration with Qatar Charity, based on the values of solidarity and cooperation between organisations and the community,” said Shanavas, emphasising the company’s dedication to playing a significant role in promoting social welfare.

Over six years, Lulu Hypermarket Qatar and Qatar Charity have signed several cooperation agreements. The first agreement allows customers to donate changes when paying their purchase bills at Lulu Hypermarkets to support charitable projects both within and outside of Qatar.

The second agreement promotes Qatar Charity’s Khair Cards, while the third agreement involves collaboration under the ‘Shop & Donate’ initiative, in addition to the ‘CP’ agreement.
