THE State of Qatar took part in the 33rd Meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministers Council for Electricity held at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States' headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday in preparation for the 12th Ministerial Session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity.
In a statement on Wednesday, President of Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) Engineer Essa bin Hilal al Kuwari, who leads Qatar's delegation to the meeting, stated that the Executive Bureau will discuss the MoU to establish a joint Arab electricity market, which will be signed by the Arab ministers.
Kuwari pointed out that the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministers Council for Electricity will also discuss during the session the mechanism of implementation of the MoU, plans for the General Agreement and the Arab Common Market along with other matters dealing with Arab electricity interconnection. On Qatar's proposals in this regard, Kuwari noted that Qatar has made a number of observations which were adopted. (QNA)
