Taiba Education City for Orphans, a qualitative project of Qatar Charity (QC) in Sudan, held an iftar programme for the sponsored and organised a remarkable celebration to honour the top outstanding students at Taiba schools.
During the honouring ceremony, the students presented cultural performances that created an atmosphere of joy, and the outstanding orphans were awarded valuable prizes and gifts.
Qatar Charity also distributed Ramadan food packages to all mothers of orphans studying at the Taiba schools to alleviate the burdens of living during the holy month. This assistance has had a good impact on the beneficiaries.
The mothers of the orphans expressed their appreciation for the great role played by the Taiba Education City in providing comprehensive care for their orphaned children who study at its schools and reside in its student housing.
Zahraa Mohammed Ahmed, mother of two orphans in the Taiba city, expressed her happiness at honouring her two outstanding sons, Mohammed and Muntaqa, and bringing pleasure to them.
Dr Ahmed Nasser, acting director of the Taiba Education City, said that honouring the outstanding orphans and their mothers comes as a motivation for more excellence and to raise the spirit of competition between them and to encourage others to do well and succeed.
The students expressed their happiness with the honour and the Ramadan atmosphere in the Taiba. Ahmed Adam, a student, said fasting and the Ramadan atmosphere are special with the friends in the Taiba Education City. Adam, who was among the outstanding students, added that he was surprised and happy at the same time with the initiative to honour them.
Dr Mona Al Faki, director of the Organisations Department at the Ministry of Education in Khartoum, expressed the ministry sincere thanks to Qatar Charity for its efforts in the field of supporting education, especially the education of orphans.
She added that Qatar Charity has taken the lead in providing a good educational environment for orphans in Taiba.
