In celebration of the halfway point of Ramadan, a colourful Garangao Night will be organised at Al Shaqab Village in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

“We are excited to invite you and your family to experience the warmth of Qatari hospitality at the most beautiful Garangao Night at Al Shaqab Village in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. This colourful and youthful festival celebrates the halfway point of Ramadan and is a traditional celebration across Qatar and the entire Gulf region,” a press statement issued on the occasion said.

“Join us on Wednesday, April 5th, from 8:30 pm to 12:00 am, for an evening filled with fun heritage activities, including a competition for the best Garangao night dress for children, fashion show, lantern workshops, traditional games, sadu weaving, and many more interesting and exciting activities,” the statement added.

Children will have an opportunity to decorate and customise their Garangao bags before they collect their goodies and giveaways. Additionally, they can visit Dukan Al Fareej to explore different sweets, snacks, and products.

“At Al Shaqab Village, you and your family will enjoy the traditional festive atmosphere that reflects the ancient traditions and revives popular heritage amid songs that bring back memories of the beautiful past. It is a chance for today’s children to experience the beautiful days of yesterday’s children and their society.”

“We look forward to celebrating Garangao Night with you and your family,” the statement concluded. For more information, please visit https://alshaqab.com/en/garangao-night-registration
