"I would like to take the opportunity to thank the hundreds of vaccination health workers across all our vaccination centers working diligently to keep our population safe."
The Al Wakra facility is the second drive-through vaccination centre being opened in Qatar, following the success of the first in Lusail.
The Al Wakra centre will operate in the same manner as the Lusail centre, with both facilities catering for people receiving their second dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine. The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will notify eligible people if their second dose will be administered at either of the drive-through centres, a primary health centre or Qatar National Convention Centre. People do not need a time-specific appointment to attend the drive-through centers, they can attend at any time during operational hours on the due day of their second dose.
