Qatar Charity (QC) signed, for the second consecutive year, a cooperation and partnership agreement with Al Meera Consumer Goods during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Under the agreement, Al Meera maintains its membership in the Gold category of the Charity Partner (CP) programme.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media sector at Qatar Charity, and Mohammed Al Sultan, Al Meera HR manager.
The agreement comes as part of Qatar Charity’s commitment to providing the necessary aid and support to the target groups. As for Al Meera, this is part of its continuous Corporate Social Responsibility strategy towards supporting humanitarian work, promoting local charitable projects, assisting the needy and giving back to the community.
Fakhroo expressed his happiness with the renewal of the ‘CP’ agreement with Al Meera, which always supports charitable projects and is keen to provide distinguished services to community members, and seeks to give back to the community in which it runs its business.
Fakhro also called on all other organisations and companies to contribute to charity work to discharge their responsibility towards community locally and support the needy and the vulnerable globally.
On his part, Sultan said, “We are glad to sign again the Gold Charity Partnership with Qatar Charity, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Our collaboration provides a unique opportunity for our customers to participate in humanitarian activities and charity work through our various campaigns that spread joy amongst families in need. As a national company and the largest retailer in Qatar, we believe that Qatar Charity is a perfect partner in this drive based on its wide coverage not only within Qatar but also in many countries across the world.
“Through this longstanding partnership, Al Meera has donated a share of the revenue from over 2,000 products to Qatar Charity to support its humanitarian efforts during the holy month via our ‘Shop and Donate’ campaign.Furthermore, Al Meera has contributed shopping vouchers to hundreds of families to be able to stock up on all their needs and made it very easy for customers to buy Ramadan boxes at Al Meera which Qatar Charity picked up and distributed to families around the country. As always, Al Meera also provides Qatar Charity with collection booths throughout our branches for easy access to customers wishing to make donations during other parts of the year.”
Sultan noted that Al Meera is committed to supporting humanitarian activities for the benefit of the general populace, indicating that Al Meera cooperates with all relevant authorities and entities in the country to boost its effective role in advancing charitable work, economic growth and urban development in Qatar.
