FM affirms Qatar’s solidarity with Afghan people in facing the effects of earthquake

Tribune News NetworkDohaDeputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the Afghan people in facing the effects of earthquake.In a tweet, the FM said, “We extend our sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the brotherly people of Afghanistan for the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Thursday, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”The FM said, “We affirm the full solidarity of Qatar with the brotherly Afghan people in facing the consequences of the earthquake.”The death toll from the powerful earthquake in eastern Afghanistan climbed to more than 1,500, with nearly 2,000 injured. The earthquake destroyed hundreds of houses, and caused landslides in some areas. The majority of confirmed deaths were recorded in four districts of Paktika province, which is the most affected eastern provinces.
