To mark International Labour Day, which is observed on May 1 every year, a free medical camp for workers residing in the area was successfully held at Abeer Medical Centre, Industrial Area Branch, on Friday, May 5.
Buoyed by the success of the camp, the organisers extended the camp, making it a weekly event to be held every Friday of the entire month of May 2023.
The event was organised in recognition of the valuable contributions of workers by Abeer Medical Centre, Industrial Area Branch in partnership with Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association. It was supported by Overseas Friends Welfare Association, Nepal Workers Welfare Association, Singh Sewa and Bangladesh community.
The free camp covered key parameters such as blood pressure check, GRBS, total cholesterol and Uric Acid tests besides free consultation with doctors including general practitioner, ENT, orthopaedic and dental specialists.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Abdulla Ahmad Al-Mohannadi, legal advisor, Office of Assistant Undersecretary Ministry of Labour. Dr. Abdullah Ahmad emphasised the importance of taking care of the needs of workers and wholeheartedly appreciated the efforts of Abeer Medical Centre and the other associations for arranging a successful medical camp.
Nearly 250 workers benefited from the free medical camp. All those who attended the camp were gifted a Privilege Card which entitles them to multiple discounts and benefits at Al Abeer Medical Centre Industrial Area Branch.
Dr. Nithyanand, Group Head of Abeer Medical Centre added that Abeer Medical Centre is committed to many more such community service initiatives in the upcoming period for the welfare of society.
