The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) inaugurated an art exhibition on Sunday, which will run until May 11, in collaboration with Al Arqam Academy for Girls.

General Manager of Katara Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti praised the exhibition, titled ‘The journey of colours in the depth of childhood’, which includes 80 paintings by a group of primary students at the Al Arqam Academy. He expressed hope that the exhibition would achieve its distinguished artistic and educational objectives and develop the talents and experiences of the participating students. Al Sulaiti also stressed Katara’s support to the promising talents of all categories and age groups.

Basma bint Saleh, an art teacher at Al Arqam Academy for Girls, hailed the high-quality canvas paintings created by the female students from Grades I to VI using watercolours and colouring pencils.

The topics of the paintings range from Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to everyday life. Some paintings depict the city of Occupied Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raising of the Palestinian flag over the Dome of the Rock Mosque. The exhibition also includes glass paintings that show what the students have learned from practical colour mixing activities.
