Cultivating one’s professional network and being intentional about being a ‘global woman’ in the post-pandemic age of globalization is crucial in advancing one’s career and business. Networking not only helps career women and businesswomen develop and improve their skill set by keeping up with the latest trends, but it also allows them to expand their horizons and access new opportunities as they find new inspiration from like-minded women in the industry.
In an interview with Qatar Tribune, Regional Director of the newly launched Global Woman Club in Doha Dr Aisha Alsheikh stressed the importance of being a ‘global woman’ today and reiterated that Qatar has women leaders and women of influence who are already changing the world.
As the country continues to bask in the spotlight after its World Cup glory, it is important to continue the momentum and show the world the true representation of women from Qatar, according to Alsheikh.
She said: “It is very important to show the world that we have women leaders and women of influence in Qatar who are actually changing the world and to let their voices be heard. We have amazing potential and capacities here from Qatari and non-Qatari women. We are all women from different backgrounds and cultures, but we share the same experiences. We have a voice, and we’re capable of doing big things around the world. We can contribute not only to our local communities and our country but to the world as well. As women, we need to show the world that we’re all one, we also have our voice which not only needs to be heard locally, but globally.
“And that’s why I think it’s very important for women in Qatar to be intentional about being a global woman because being a global woman means we are willing and accepting of our differences, we are united as one, regardless of our backgrounds, religion, and nationalities. We’re all women and we’re capable of more than we could think of. We are stronger than what we think and we can be leaders in our field and influencers regardless of where we come from,” Alsheikh added.
A woman with huge potential from Qatar, Alsheikh has lived and studied in the UK for 18 years. She is also the Founder & CEO of Minds Rewired, a medical scientist, expert in personal development, educator and social entrepreneur, and a renowned international public speaker and podcast host. Alsheikh is also a strong advocate for education, community development, leadership, women and youth empowerment, and humanitarian actions.
As an educator, she is most passionate about influencing and transforming peoples’ mindsets, motivating, educating, and empowering them. Aisha’s current focus is guiding entrepreneurs, especially female entrepreneurs, to gain clarity, find purpose, overcome limiting beliefs, and build a holistically healthy lifestyle.
Her mission is to raise community awareness and improve the quality of their lives through education, business, and empowerment.
She strives to empower female leaders and entrepreneurs through Global Woman Club in Doha by providing them with the utmost support, like-minded community and sisterhood, powerful resources, and global connections, and creating the best environment for them to thrive with their businesses, speak internationally and take their business globally.
Alsheikh said: “It’s important to have that supportive environment which sometimes we lack. And being in business is a lonely journey. You need the right support amidst the ups and downs in business; and the right people who have been there and have overcome the challenges to support you. In this kind of environment, you will thrive more and accelerate your business.
“We’re all here to support each other, and my main aim is to give people hope. To never give up. There is always a choice no matter what experiences you’ve been through. Fight for what’s right for you and realize that you’re not alone. You have women who stand by you, as well as a platform to let your voice be heard globally. God created us with gifts and talents, and it is my aim to help women grow and utilize these gifts and abilities to serve humanity. And that is a life of authenticity and fulfilment,” Alsheikh concluded.
