Al-Faisal Without Borders Foundation (ALF) held an awards ceremony to honour the students who have won in the educational programmes offered by the foundation.

The two programmes are ‘Destination Imagination’, implemented by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and ‘Farm your Country’, implemented by the ALF Foundation in cooperation with the Municipality, represented by the Public Parks Administration, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar for the current season of 2022-2023.

The ceremony was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) and was attended by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, founder and chairman of the Board at Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, Maha Zayed Al Rawili, assistant undersecretary for education affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Eng. Abdulatif Ali Al-Yafaei, general manager of Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation, Mona El Helbawi, general manager of the Education, Culture and Sports Sector at Al Faisal Holding (ARIES Cluster), Omar Al Naama, assistant undersecretary for private education affairs at the Ministry, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, president of Qatar University for Science and Technology, Dr. Khalid Al-Horr, president of Community College in Qatar, and Dr. Nasser Al-Nuaimi, associate vice president for research & graduate studies of Qatar University. Also in attendance was Fatima Al-Obaidli, head of activities department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The "Destination Imagination” programme, which has been implemented by the foundation for nine consecutive years, aims to empower children and students of all ages, focusing on developing 21st century leadership and root skills. Approximately, 700 students representing around 30 government and private schools were honoured for achieving the top three positions in various challenges of the Destination Imagination programme out of a total of 70 schools that competed during the academic season of 2022/2023.

As for the "Farm your Country” programme, which has been implemented by the foundation for the eighth consecutive year,promotes self-reliance, initiative, and utilising their potential to manage their own resources for future generations.

In this edition of the programme, 120 students representing 12 winning schools were honoured for achieving the top positions out of a total of 34 schools that competed during the academic season of 2022/2023.

The ceremony was filled with excitement and joy, which positively reflects on enriching the educational process and developing the desired skills of the students, and achieving the objectives of the educational programs implemented by the foundation.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani expressed his happiness with the level of participating schools and students in this year’s programme. He stated that the foundation programmes have always aimed to equip students from all categories with the basic scientific, engineering, and technological skills that will help them in their academic and future lives. This was already evident through the competition between the participating teams in the local championship held last April at Qatar University, as well as the outstanding school participation in the "Farm your Country” programme.

Maha Zayed Al Rawili, assistant undersecretary for education affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, expressed her thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Faisal who always supports students and education through important programs and activities. She noted that the foundation has been implementing this programme in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for nine consecutive years.
