Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar in association with Pakistan Cultural Forum Qatar will launch an Urdu poetry collection titled ‘Khusbo-e-Khayal’ penned by Qatar-based Pakistani poetess Samreen Nadeem Samar at Bait Al Sulaiti, Ministry of Culture on Friday, May 12.
Eminent personalities from the literary and cultural spheres will attend the event, including Maryam Yassin Al-Hammadi, director of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture; Jamal Fayez Al-Saeed, cultural advisor; Amna Javed, first secretary at the Pakistan Embassy; and Waheedullah Wazir, community welfare attaché at the Pakistan Embassy.
The book launch ceremony will be followed by a mushaira and classical musical performance showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Pakistan. Poets from Qatar and Pakistan will present their works.
“The event promises to be a celebration of poetry, culture, and literature and is a must-attend event for poetry lovers and enthusiasts of the Urdu language. We hope that this event will encourage and inspire the Urdu-speaking community in Qatar and beyond,” said Dr Khalil Ullah Shibli, chief patron of Pakistan Cultural Forum Qatar.
“We will continue to organise the graceful events to promote the Urdu Language, as Urdu possess a rich culture with its realm and is one of the most spoken languages of the region,” remarked Dr Faisal Hanif, Chairman Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar.
