Of the 450 students of Birla Public School (BPS) who appeared for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) conducted by the Indian Board of Secondary Education in March 2023, 20 per cent scored more than 90 per cent and overall 50 per cent of students achieved distinction by scoring more than 75 per cent, according to a press statement issued by the school.

The overall topper and humanities stream topper was Larissa Tauro who scored 97.80%.

The science stream joint toppers were Shirin Bhardwaj and Kavya Vijai both of whom scored 96.40%. The commerce stream topper was Alen Renny Varughese who scored 92.80%.Nine students scored centum in psychology, 1 in English and 1 in informatics practices. In all, the school got 708 A1s in various subjects.

In the humanities stream, Larissa Tauro came first with 97.80% and was followed by Kashifa Abdul Rahman with 95.80% and Gopika Gireesan Menon with 94.20 in the second and third places respectively.

Similarly, in the science stream, Shirin Bhardwaj and Kavya Vijai with 96.40% marks came first. Balakumar Thulasidoss and Aman Mohammed with 96.20% came second while Adithya Krishnakumar Nair, Desna Dennies Thattil, Reshma Pammi Madhu, Sreevedha Maroju, Pavithra Shetty, all of whom scored 96.00% came third.

In the commerce stream, Alen Renny Varughese (92.80%) came first, Saahil Sanoj (92.00%) came second and Nirva Rajanikant Patel (90.80%) came third.

The subject toppers and the marks scored by them were as follows:

Agnel Joseph Ayathil,Anagha Dinesh, Ann Maria Shaji, Jeshlyn Rajesh Chalikottayil, Shirin Bhardwaj, Amatul Ahad, Sarah Mohamed, Vaibhav Krishna Gopakumar, and Larissa Tauro all of whom scored 100 were the psychology toppers.

Anna Jenifer Anto topped English – Core with 100%. And Balakumar Thulasidoss was the informatics practices topper having scored 100%.

Sociology toppers were Kasvi Gautam and Larissa Tauro with 99%. Dan Joseph was the chemistry topper with 99%.

In engineering graphics, Atharva Dipak Dahake, Kirtha Varshita Arun Prasad, Rhythm Chawla, Abinaya Sivaraman, Ann Mariya Sajan, Ardra Haridas Nair, Rohit Vinod Nair, Anirudh Vignesh Subramanian all of whom scored 99% were the joint toppers.

In computer science, Aman Mohammed topped with 99% marks while in Physics Adithya Krishnakumar Nair and Balakumar Thulasidoss with 98% were the toppers.

In biology, Pavithra Shetty with 98% was the highest scorer while in physical education Deepayan Mukherjee topped with a similar score. Aman Mohammed topped in mathematics with 97%. Kashifa Abdul Rahman and Larissa Tauro topped in political science by scoring 97%. Larissa Tauro also topped in economics with 97% marks. Saahil Sanoj topped in business studies with 95%.

Gizi Manayath Saji, Mahima Thanuvenkatesh, Nirva Rajanikant Patel and Alen Renny Varughese topped in accountancy with 95%. In applied mathematics, Nirva Rajanikant Patel came first with 93% marks.

The students who secured A1 in all subjects are: Larissa Tauro, Shirin Bhardwaj, Kavya Vijai, Balakumar Thulasidoss, Aman Mohammed, Desna Dennies Thattil, Reshma Pammi Madhu, Sreevedha Maroju, Pavithra Shetty, Jeevika Praveen Suvarna, Rhythm Chawla, Aparna Ramesh, Jeshlyn Rajesh Chalikottayil, Maria Gojy, Sarah Mohamed, Adarsh Sasikumar, Anne Saji Mathews, Anusha Ajai Rodrigues, Meenakshi Preeji, Neem Aseela Navas, Thaniya Rahumathulla, Jones Manoj Joseph, Mohiuddin Vohra, Moinuddin Vohra, Arlene Riona Devasahayarajan, Carol Sachin Chopde, Hafiz Feroze Vellukuzhi, Sai Nishanth Segu, Arnab Chakraborti, Nishal Saravanan, Bianca Vinod, Kashifa Abdul Rahman.

“On this occasion, Birla Public School acknowledges the pivotal role played by the teachers and parents in their children’s accomplishment,” the school press statement said.

Chairman Gope Shahani and all members of the Board of Directors congratulated the students on their fantastic performance.
