Engineers Australia’s Global Business Development Manager Astley Pung, who is based in the UK, is on a visit to Qatar until May 16, the organisation has announced. During his visit, which kicked off on May 14, Astley is expected to meet top industry leaders and officials of major universities in Qatar to promote Engineers Australia and highlight the benefits of the ‘Chartered from Engineers Australia’ title as well as the immigration of professionals and investors to Australia.
One of the key messages Astley is expected to convey is that Engineers Australia’s agreement with the Ministry of Municipality’s Engineers Accrediting & Classifying Committee allows Chartered members of Engineers Australia to obtain Engineer Registration Certificates without appearing for the exam. This agreement provides an excellent opportunity for engineers to enhance their career prospects in Qatar and Australia.
Astley’s visit to Qatar will also include meetings with university students and participation in a Thought Leaders Forum in collaboration with Western Australia (WA) Invest & Trade, on the Australian Embassy premises on May 15. The forum will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insights on the latest trends and opportunities for investors, engineers and students. The forum will have a discussion by panellists comprising Aziz Saba (Invest and Trade WA), Prof John Evans and Prof Pon Selvan (Curtin University), Omid Honari (Navitas), Karan Joshi (Aussizz Group) and Diana Monis (Austrade).
The visit of Astley Pung to Qatar is part of Engineers Australia’s ongoing efforts to forge partnerships and collaborations with key stakeholders in the region.
