The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, in cooperation with Qatar Museums, has unveiled ‘Smile’ artwork by the Qatari artist Ahmed Al-Maadheed at Doha Corniche.

Chairperson of Qatar Museums HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani said, “It's nice to see the work of our Qatari artists all over the country! I was pleased with the inauguration of the sculpture "Smile" by Qatari artist Ahmed Al-Maadeed on the Doha Corniche, in a message that invites people to be optimistic and spread positivity.”

“Thank you, the Supervisory Committee for Beautification of Roads and Public Places in the State and Qatar Museums for your efforts in spreading art and creativity in Qatar,” she said.

Eng. Mohamed Al-Khaldi, Chairman of the Committee, said, “We’re pleased to commission the ‘Smile’ artwork done by Qatari artist Ahmed Al-Maadheed, as part of the committee’s initiative to support local artists, their creative skills, and leave an artistic legacy for future generations.”

Abdulrahman Al-Ishaq, Public Art Director at QM, said, “Public Art in Doha continuously enhances public places by creating a platform that showcases artistic talents. We wholeheartedly endorse ‘Smile’ artwork that represents joy & calls to spread love, peace & unity for a bright future.”

For his part, Ahmed Al-Maadheed said, “It is a pleasure to work with The Beautification Committee and Qatar Museums to present the ‘Smile’ artwork, which is a significant contribution to my career, as it reflects the noble message calling for smiles, optimism, love, and peace.”
