Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is participating in the Qatar CSR Conference and Exhibition, being held at Qatar University (QU), presenting a comprehensive overview of its achievements and humanitarian work over the past years.

In an interview with Qatar Tribune, Hussein Al Ali, director of Volunteerism and Local Development at QRCS, said: “Over the past five years, Qatar Red Crescent Society has provided significant humanitarian assistance worldwide, targeting various humanitarian issues and emergencies. The efforts focused on delivering medical and relief aid to those affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters, providing shelter and care for displaced persons and refugees, and offering education and healthcare services in marginalised communities.”

He added, “Through diverse programmes and projects, we have succeeded in providing aid and assistance to thousands of individuals in need worldwide. Qatar Red Crescent Society has provided specialised medical services and free surgeries for vulnerable children, launched extensive vaccination campaigns to protect children from preventable diseases, and implemented sustainable projects in water and sanitation to improve living conditions in underserved areas.”

Al Ali expressed his pride in the achievements of QRSC and emphasized that its commitment to corporate social responsibility reflects the values and ethics of the Qatari people. He also highlighted the importance of building strong partnerships with local and international institutions.

He stated: “We believe in the significance of collaboration and strong partnerships to achieve positive impact in the communities we serve. We closely work with the government, international organisations, and private companies to enhance capacities and achieve effective change in the lives of those in need.”

Regarding future challenges, Al Ali expressed optimism and confidence in QRCS’ ability to adapt and continuously improve.

He stated, “We live in a rapidly changing world, and yet, we are committed to innovation and utilising technology to enhance our services and increase our response capabilities to crises. We consider challenges as opportunities for learning and growth, and we will continue to work diligently to achieve our vision of providing aid and care for those in need worldwide.”
