Q Label designers' collection, a Qatari fashion brand, in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), has launched its charitable project 'iCare'.
'iCare' is an annual charity project, through which Q Label will donate a third of their profits to alleviate the suffering of aggrieved women in different parts of the world. The QRCS will facilitate the project by providing logistic support and platform to deliver the funds and efforts.
Saba Sayed, an associate co-founder of Q Label, told Qatar Tribune:"We aim to raise awareness about oppression against women. Our mission will become successful when the message spreads across the world."
This year, for the first launch, Q Label joins QRCS' project in Myanmar to aid the oppressed women of Rohingya Muslim minority who lost their families and were left helpless. The project includes training the women to stitch and providing them with sewing machines so that they can have a livelihood and a second chance for a decent life.
On the sidelines of the event to launch the project, Yezenia Navarro, founder of 'Queens Without Scars' anti-violence organisation and an initiator of the iCare project, told Qatar Tribune:"Our vision is to give back to the needy people through this project."
Q Label will continue to raise awareness about Myanmar crisis until July 31, 2017. The funds raised during the period will be handed over to QRCS to begin work on its development project in Myanmar.
