Carrefour Qatar won the prestigious award for ‘Best CSR Initiative in the Retail Sector’ at the Qatar CSR Summit 2023, which concluded its conference and exhibition in Doha recently.
The Qatar CSR Summit 2023 was held in cooperation with Qatar University, Qatar’s largest university, under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Minister of Social Development and Family HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad inaugurated the summit and gave its opening speech.
Through the award, Carrefour Qatar was recognised for its community involvement success, and its strategic relationship with the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, through which, Carrefour Qatar succeeded in collecting more than QR10 million of donations from the public to empower children’s education in Qatar.
Commenting on the award, Laurent Hausknecht, Carrefour’s regional director, said: “First, I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to make this happen. We feel very proud to win the coveted Qatar CSR Summit 2023 Award, and we are honoured to serve and support our community here in Qatar. Our strong community relations and presence in this unique event have facilitated meeting valuable potential partners from both the public and the private sectors, and with new successful relationships, we will certainly go further on our journey in CSR, covering community involvement, environmental protection, inclusion and sustainability.”
