Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah al Attiyah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Baladi and Baladi Express Group, visited Barcelona Club in response to a gracious invitation from Mr. Joan Laporta, President of Barcelona Club, and attended the Barcelona match, in which they were crowned champions of La Liga for the current season 2023/2022.
During the visit, Mr al Attiyah was acquainted with the facilities of the prestigious Spanish club, and bilateral discussions were held between the two sides, expressing their aspirations to enhance cooperation between Barcelona Club and al Baladi Group in economic and marketing fields, the details of which will be announced at a later time.
Furthermore, Mr. al Attiyah extended an invitation to the President of Barcelona Club to visit Qatar in the near future. This invitation was extended during the meeting attended by Mr. Hani al Sayyadi, CEO of al Baladi and Baladi Express Group, and several members of the Barcelona Club’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Al Attiyah also examined the official club headquarters, observed part of the first team’s training sessions, and met with the head coach, Xavi Hernandez, in addition to a distinguished group of players, including Robert Lewandowski, Pedri Rodriguez, Araujo, goalkeeper Ter Stegen, and the Brazilian Rafinha. All encounters revealed important aspects of the team’s activities and its methods of sports development.
Mr al Attiyah expressed his happiness with the visit and accepted the invitation from the President of Barcelona Club, one of the most prestigious sports institutions in the world.
On the sidelines of the meeting, commemorative gifts were exchanged between Mr al Attiyah and Mr Joan Laporta, President of Barcelona, to ensure that the visit remains a lasting memory and contributes to strengthening the relationship between the two parties.
It is worth mentioning that al Baladi Group engages in various activities, including trade in foodstuffs through a chain of branches and hypermarkets, as well as the hotel and restaurant sector, along with several other business activities. Additionally, the giant e-commerce platform "Baladi Express” is being prepared for launch in various fields.
