Q-Terminals is participating in Project Qatar 2023 exhibition as a silver sponsor to highlight its local and international achievements as well as future projects in the four-day event.
Talking to the Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of the exhibition on the first day, Q-Terminals Corporate Communications Director Noor Shahdad said, “We are pleased to participate in the 19th edition of Project Qatar as a silver sponsor, and we would like to welcome all the visitors to this exhibition to come and visit our stand to have further information about our projects, our operations and our future initiatives and projects that we have.”
Noor Shahdad said the exhibition was an opportunity to introduce the company and the role of the Hamad Port and the distinguished services it provides to visitors and attendees.
Talking about the idea behind the unique design of Q-Terminals’ booth at the exhibition, she said, “We are ports operators and developers so we inherited the idea from there. So, we thought of having a ship and some containers on top of it to show the idea to the public about our services and what we do when it comes to container handling and handling of shipments.”
Asked about new initiatives taken by the company to introduce at the exhibition, Shahdad said, “We have new plans, new initiatives, especially when it comes to our internationalisation strategy. So we will be introducing all of these things and we’ll be introducing and talking about our initiatives when it comes to sustainability. We also have a session today at the conference and we will be talking about Hamad Port and how sustainable it is from the environment’s point of view.”
About agreements or collaboration to be announced during the exhibition, she said, “To be honest, maybe our role is mainly about the supply chain so we don’t have things to do when it comes to having deals or contracts. Or any of that. To be honest, our participation is mainly about raising awareness about Q- Terminals, what we do, raising awareness of Hamad Port, how it serves the supply chain of Qatar and how it serves the trade of Qatar,”
Q-Terminals is a terminal operating company jointly established by Mwani Qatar with 51% shareholding and Milaha with 49 percent shareholding to provide container, general cargo, RORO, livestock and offshore supply services in Phase 1 of Hamad Port, Qatar’s gateway to world trade.
Q-Terminals is responsible for enabling Qatar’s imports and exports, its maritime trade flows and stimulating economic growth locally and regionally. It was awarded the concession for the design, development and operations of Hamad Port’s Phase II in November 2018 by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications, also actively identifying investment and operations opportunities in ports and terminals outside of Qatar.
