General Hotel Management Ltd (GHM), the inimitable creator of stylish hotels and resorts in exotic locales worldwide, has announced the appointment of Hani Akkari as the new General Manager of The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort in Doha.
Hani’s stellar reputation garnered over 17 years of experience in some of the world’s most renowned luxury hotels will serve him well in his remit to oversee the hotel’s day-to-day operations and lead its commercial and strategic initiatives in his new role. He will also champion new projects to elevate the culinary experiences and service excellence to bring to life A Style to Remember at The Chedi Katara.
Hani’s wealth of international experience spans from Europe to the Middle East and is coupled with his passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. His career began in France in 2007, where he gained valuable experiences at Four Seasons Luxury Hotels and Resorts and Hilton Arc De Triomphe in Paris. He later embarked on his journey in the Middle East, where he joined the pre-opening for Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, the UAE, and was subsequently promoted to Director of Rooms Division.
Hani would later serve as Executive Assistant Manager at Sofitel Al Khobar, KSA, before assuming the role of Director of Operations followed by General Manager at Alwadi Doha – MGallery Hotel Collection, Qatar. During his tenure at Alwadi Doha, Hani’s leadership and dedication to hospitality excellence resulted in remarkable operation success and garnered prestigious international accolades and recognition for the hotel.
He was appointed General Manager of Fairmont Doha in Katara Towers, where his recent achievements include leading a dedicated team of hospitality leaders for the hotel’s iconic opening which led to great commercial success from hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
