Those looking to quit smoking can now visit six smoking cessation clinics at Leabaib, Al Daayen, Al Gharafa, Omar Bin Khattab, Abu Bakr Al-Sidiq, Mesaimeer (Abu Hamour) and Rawdat Al Khail health centres, a top PHCC official has said.
Director of Health Promotion and Recovery at PHCC Dr Wadha al Baker has urged smokers to visit these clinics that are providing a stimulating programme for those looking to quit smoking.
The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has affirmed its keenness to raise awareness of the community about the dangers of smoking, marking the World No Tobacco Day, which falls on May 31.
The goal of the World No Tobacco Day is to protect the present and future generations from the devastating health consequences of tobacco from the social, environmental and economic scourges of tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke.
She said the PHCC and its health centres are working on a unique model that focuses on showing the real dangers of tobacco consumption and the dangers of passive smoking.
