Qatar Charity (QC) is participating in the 32nd Doha International Book Fair with a distinguished pavilion, as part of its responsibility to spread the culture of volunteer work and its efforts to contribute to the development of society.
Faisal Al Fahida, assistant CEO of the Programmes and Community Development Sector at Qatar Charity, said: “Our participation includes providing Qatar Charity publications to students and the public we consider it an opportunity to introduce our Izdihar platform, which includes 21,000 volunteers, where we provide them with a lot of support. We also seek to attract more volunteers and integrate them in providing humanitarian and development services.”
The pavilion displays QC’spublications in the field of volunteer and humanitarian work and includes a special corner for children who are visitors to the exhibition, in addition to organising several seminars and workshops and launching a group of publications of the winning students of the fifth edition of the Future Writers Programme, which provides the cultural scene in the country with promising writers.
The pavilion also contains interactive screens for the public, introductory screens of the association’s applications such as ‘Al-Aqraboun’ application for internal aid, and others to introduce the Qatar Charity blog, in addition to introducing and registering for ‘Izdehar’ platform.
Qatar Charity urged the public to visit its booth No 83 near Gate No 5 to view its publications and invited families and children to interact with the various events and activities that it implements during the exhibition days.
The training workshops for adults deal with a variety of topics, including the workshop ‘Reading a Story from the Qatari Heritage’ presented by Noura Ali Johar Al Rumaihi in the Thought Hall on Monday June 12, and will present the next talk on Friday, June 16 at 7pm, during which aspects of the value and cultural life of Qatar will be reviewed.
A workshop entitled ‘Books and Child Creativity’ will be presented by Munira Saad Al Rumaihi on Tuesday, June 13 at 4pm on how reading affects the child’s upbringing and academic path, and how to choose books for age groups.
A workshop on ‘Painting on Recycled Glass’ will also be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 4pm.
