Fully-vaccinated travellers from 95 countries can now enter Qatar visa-free, Qatar Airways has confirmed.
Based on available information, only travellers who have taken the vaccines approved by Qatar's Ministry of Public Health will be extended the visa-waivers upon arrival.
Four vaccines have received MOPH approval so far — Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Covishield, Janssen/Johnson & Johson. Sinopharm is a conditionally approved vaccine and visitors vaccinated with both doses of Sinopharm have to undergo a COVID-19 antibody test upon arrival in Qatar.
The travellers should also ensure that 14 days must have passed after the prescribed number of shots — one in the case of Janssen/J&J and two for the rest.
All visitors - irrespective of age - must provide a negative PCR test result. The test result must be less than 72 hours old at the time of arrival into Qatar.
With a decline in COVID-19 cases and increasing vaccination, Qatar on July 12 reopened its borders to international travellers.
While fully vaccinated citizens, residents and travellers are exempt from quarantine, the Ministry of Public Health has spelled out several travel scenarios where it applies.
