His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, met with Hamane Niang, President of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and his accompanying delegation on
Tuesday. The meeting came on the sidelines of the FIBA delegation’s inspection visit to Doha to see the sports facilities designated for FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects
of bilateral sports cooperation, and ways to support and develop it in the next stage. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Saad Almeghaiseeb, President of the Qatar Basketball Association, and Andreas Zagklis, Secretary-General of International Basketball Federation. FIBA had named Qatar as hosts for the 2027 World Cup during its meeting held last April in the Philippine capital of Manila. (QNA)
