Based on Al-Ula agreement and mutual keennesson strengthening the bilateral relations, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates announced restoration of diplomatic representation between the two countries by resuming the work at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, and at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Doha as of Monday, June 19.

The two sides underlined that this step is a result of an embodiment of the will of the leaderships of the two countries, and in consolidation of the march of joint Arab action, to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Monday received a phone call from HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the phone call, the two sides exchanged congratulations on the occasion of resuming the work at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, and at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Doha.

The PM welcomed the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and expressed Qatar’s aspiration to promoting partnership with the UAE to reflect the depth of the fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples.

The two sides discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries and means to enhance the cooperation in various fields to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The meeting also touched on regional and international developments and a number of issues of common concern.
