DOHA:His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of Republic of Singapore Halimah Yacob held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday.
At the outset of the session, HH the Amir welcomed the Singaporean president and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a good stay and looking forwards for the visit to contribute to cementing bilateral cooperation relations to achieve the aspirations and interests of the two peoples.
For her part, the President of Singapore expressed her thanks and appreciation for HH the Amir for the good welcome and reception, expressing her hope that the visit can enhance bilateral cooperation to broader horizons in different spheres.
During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to support and develop them in various fields of cooperation, especially energy, food security and education, in addition to discussing key regional and international developments of common concern.
The official talks session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Municipality HE Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau HE Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa and a number of senior officials.
On the Singaporean side, it was attended by Minister at Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling and a number of senior officials, members of the official delegation.
HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet on honour of president of Republic of Singapore Halimah Yacob and the accompanying delegation.
The Singaporean President was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
