Sale of subsidised sacrificial animals to begin on July 1

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Widam Food Company, has announced the sale of subsidised sacrificial animals for the year 1443 AH, which begins on Friday (July 1) until Wednesday, July 13, (the fourth day of Eid Al Adha). The ministry confirmed that the initiative aims to control the market during the blessed Eid Al Adha period in order to achieve price stability, create a balance between supply and demand, stabilize the local market during certain seasons in which the demand for supply increases, reduce the unjustified rise in red meat prices in those seasonal periods, and provide basic commodities at an acceptable price for consumers. The initiative prioritized the support of breeders and farm owners due to the ministry’s keenness to increase local production to achieve self-sufficiency and attain food security. (QNA) page 2
