people wearing football jerseys and carrying flags danced, sung and walked their way across the landmark during the Unity Celebration, which marked the 25-day countdown to the event on July 20-August 20. The event began with a traditional smoking ceremony, followed by live cultural performances and speeches. A special double-sided jersey was also unveiled, commemorating the co-host countries. (DPA)
