Shantiniketan Indian School (SIS) recently held a parents’ meeting with the aim of forming the Parents’ Association for the first time in the history of the school.

The association would enable the parents to work in partnership with the school administration to provide the best possible education for their children.

The formation of the Parents’ Association is seen as a significant step towards building a stronger relationship between parents and the school.

Parents were invited to nominate themselves for various positions, including chief convenor, assistant convenor, secretary, joint secretary and executive members.

The elected members were declared by the Chief Coordinator Dr Salil Hasan.

The newly formed Parents’ Association includes a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about ensuring the best possible education for their children.

The meeting was a huge success, and the formation of the Parent Association was warmly welcomed by parents. The Parents’ Association is expected to play an active role in the school’s future, working alongside the administration to ensure that every child at SIS receives the highest quality education possible.

The office bearers for the year 2023-2024 are: Chairman Rafeeq Rahim, SIS principal; Chief Coordinator Dr Salil Hasan, SIS vice-principal; Chief Convenor Somaraju Subrahmanya Kedarasetty; Assistant Convenor Ajith Everester; General Secretary Antoinette Rose; Joint Secretary Moazzam Mahatae; Executive Member - 1 Leena Ollachery; Executive Member - 2 Muhammad Nusair and Executive Member - 3 Harsha Moidu.

The Parents’ Association is expected to play an active role in the school process ensuring every child’s high performance. More members will be co-opted to the body later if required.
