As the 125th Philippine Independence Day celebration came to an end, Qatar Tribune asked some Filipino expatriates in Qatar on what makes them proud to be Filipinos.
You probably heard of the tagline, “It’s more fun in the Philippines!” Indeed, it cannot be refuted — there are so many characteristics and traits that are unique to Filipinos and are worth celebrating! Here’s what makes our Kabayans proud citizens of this country:
“As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), I am proud to be a Filipino because despite all the hardships and sacrifices of being away from our families due to working abroad, we will still see our kabayans smile on their faces and living with positivity in life. Iba talaga kapag Pinoy! (It’s really different being a Filipino)”.
“I am proud to be a Filipino because, no matter how bad things get, we always seem to find something positive or something to smile about to keep ourselves going.”
“I am proud to be a Filipino because of our vibrant culture, colorful heritage, and our optimistic attitude towards life, that despite the hardships we’re facing, we Filipinos, still get to put a smile on our faces.”
