Qatar's Civil Defence has contained a small fire that broke out at a flat in one of the hotel towers in West Bay, the Ministry of Interior said on Monday. No casualties has been reported.
The tower was evacuated as precautionary measure, the ministry added. No further information was immediately available.

Videos that circulated online showed huge plumes of smoke rising from the skyscraper. There were no casualties but buildings in surrounding areas were evacuated and streets were closed off temporarily.
