DOHA: The Zakat Fund Department at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs provided QR15,679,623 in aid to 724 families eligible for assistance in the State of Qatar in July 2023.
The head of the Collection and Zakat Accounts at Zakat Fund Jarab Al Ahbabi said that the aid, both periodic and lump-sum, was disbursed to the eligible registered families in accordance with the legal Zakat disbursements and approved mechanisms.
Al Ahbabi indicated that the amounts were distributed among the periodic aids that are provided on a monthly basis to eligible families with a value of QR9,350,273, and lump-sum aids, which are one-time aids as needed, with a value of QR6,329,350.
The head of the Collection and Zakat Accounts pointed out that the Zakat Fund Department allows those who are entitled to request assistance to apply on the department's website, and the applicant for assistance must view the required documents mentioned on the site and provide in full and upload it according to the designated places.
Al Ahbabi noted that the department receives new assistance applications electronically, and the documents submitted are checked and applicants for assistance requests are informed of the status of their requests via text messages. Applicants can inquire about their request by calling the department's phone (44701600) or through the website or by visiting the headquarters on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8am and 12pm.
Individuals and companies can pay their due zakat through the Zakat Department's website or through collection offices and points across the country.
