DOHA: Barzan Youth Centre has celebrated the graduation of over 1,000 affiliates of Barzan Academy for Youth Leaders to build entities that primarily focus on leadership aspects.
This came during the closing ceremony of the summer activity 2023 held at the academy and attended by a host of officials in the Ministry of Sports and Youth, alongside the academy's graduates and parents.
Commenting on this occasion, the Chairman of Barzan Youth Center, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, said the key objective of Barzan Academy for Youth Leaders is to build entities that essentially focus on the leadership aspect, pointing out that the moral side is one of the most important pillars of the academy that was inaugurated in 2022.
He outlined that the idea of the academy underpins a three-pronged approach, notably implementation, skill and values, pointing out that the dream is to graduate real leaders who advance the community, adding that the centre strives to build an integrated cultural community in terms of vision, values and objectives through its activities, as vision is a cultural and moral achievement which is realized through trailblazing innovation, the spirit of one team, challenge and professionalism with objectives to build a community with Qatari identity and spirit and a comprehensive moral perspective.
Supervisor of activities at the Barzan Youth Center Ibrahim Yousef Al Buainain said over 1,000 males and females have participated in the success of the academy this year, emphasizing that the centre has held a myriad of activities this year which included leadership programs to highlight the centre's orientation towards the graduation of a promising young generation.
He pointed out that the centre has offered several programmes and activities during summer vacation for the second year, including exceptional activities which presented a unique model in youth work with the purpose of advancing intellectual, youth and cultural renaissance, indicating that awareness events have been organized for young people that featured workshops and lectures to highlight the negative manifestations people should refrain from.
Al Buainain added that Barzan Youth Centre has never been oblivious to the provision of accurate and inclusive information about health and social risks associated with drug abuse and smoking through methods that consistently suit adolescents to achieve maximum benefits and impactful results, pointing out that the annual activities organized by the centre included swimming and various types of sports stemming from the fact that sport is one of the critical pillars of Qatar National Vision that primarily seek to build a powerful generation that adores sports and an integrated healthier community.
