DOHA: The State of Qatar has welcomed the United Nations' announcement of the completion of the plan to offload crude oil from the FSO Safer tanker off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations and international partners in addressing one of the most pressing environmental issues by preventing oil spillage from the tanker in the waters of the Red Sea.
The ministry expressed the State of Qatar's pride in its contribution to supporting the rescue operations coordinated by the United Nations to prevent any catastrophic spill. It also affirmed its readiness to support all international efforts aimed at building a safer and more sustainable future for all.
