DOHA: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will head the delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the eighth meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between Qatar and Singapore.
The visit to Singapore will happen from August 23 to 26.
Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Majid bin Muhammad Al Ansari, said during a briefing organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Qatari prime minister will meet the President of the Republic of Singapore HE Halima Yaqoub, Prime Minister HE Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Coordinating Minister for National Security HETeochie Hin, and Minister of Foreign HE Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.
D the visit, the prime minister will deliver a lecture, which is the first in a series of ‘Raffles’ lectures held by the National Institute for Strategic Studies there and will deal with the principles of Qatar's foreign policy and relations between Qatar and ASEAN, especially Singapore.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that His Excellency will be accompanied on the visit by Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misned, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau HE Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Qatar Free Zones Authority HE
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, and CEO of Qatar Airways HE Akbar Al Baker.
He stressed that the continent of Asia is of great importance to the State of Qatar at all levels, especially economic, political and social, as Qatar is an Asian country and must have a role in its wide region, pointing out that the largest importers of Qatari gas are Asian countries.
Dr Al Ansari noted that the relations between Qatar and its continent are pivotal, continuous and extremely important, as Asian countries are among the most important partners in the field of energy and investment, and the challenges of regional and international security and peace are common challenges that can only be worked on collectively, indicating that during recent years these relations have been developed and many have signed One of the agreements that reflect the country's great interest in its relations with Asia.
Within the framework of developing bilateral relations between Qatar and the Republic of Chad, Dr Al Ansari stated that the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi will meet on Wednesday with HE Mohamed Saleh Al Nathif, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, International Cooperation and Chadians Abroad in the Republic of Chad.
