DOHA: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet on Wednesday morning at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs stated the following:
First - Approval of a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. (9) of 1987 regarding combating narcotics and dangerous psychotropic substances and regulating their use and trafficking in them, and referring it to the Shura Council.
Second - Approval of a draft cabinet decision to amend some provisions of Resolution No. (36) of 2014 establishing the National Committee for the Customs Clearance System and Facilitating Cross-Border Trade.
Third - Approval of:
1- A draft decision of the Minister of State for Energy Affairs specifying the work that will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (4) of 2018 regulating the connection of electricity and water, and the necessary conditions and controls for that.
2- A draft decision of the Chairman of the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation specifying the conditions and procedures for connecting electricity and water to buildings and facilities whose maximum demand exceeds 5 megawatts of electricity and 600 cubic meters per day of water.
Fourth - Approval to host the 26th session of the Islamic Jurisprudence Academy in Doha during the period from 3 to 11/7/2024.
Fifth - Approval of a draft sponsorship agreement regarding organizing the 2023 Networked Future Car Symposium in Qatar.
Sixth - The Council of Ministers reviewed the following topics and took appropriate decisions regarding them:
1- The periodic report on hosting the Doha Horticultural Expo 2023, during the period from 10/2/2023 to 3/28/2024.
2- Report (55) on the results of the work of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons during the period from 1/1 to 4/30/2023.
3- A report on the results of participation in the Hannover International Industrial Fair 2023 (Germany - April 2023).
4- A report on the results of the visit made by His Excellency the Minister of Social Development and Family to the Kingdom of Morocco (May 2023).
