A large number of people are likely to get tested positive for COVID-19 in Qatar in the coming weeks, the Medical Director of Communicable Disease Center (CDC) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Dr Muna Al Maslamani has said.
“We are likely to see large numbers of people who will test positive in the coming weeks, but the vast majority of them will only have mild to moderate symptoms and will not need medical care,” she added.
It is safe for those who have tested positive for coronavirus and who have mild or moderate symptoms to undergo home isolation for 10 days. Such people are not required to be admitted to a hospital or a government isolation facility, she said, adding that this especially applied to those under 50 years of age who are in good health.
