TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORKDohatalabat, the region’s leading local tech platform, is teaming up with GreatGamers Award to launch the Gulf region’s first regional e-sports initiative in Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan. The gaming scene in the region has recently seen rapid development, and talabat is determined to play a key role in accelerating this growth. The platform will celebrate gamers in MENA through one of the region’s largest Gaming Awards Shows, as the first of many initiatives.The ‘talabat Great Gamers Awards,’ which debuted on June 13, recognise the year’s best gamers, casters, and coaches. People will be able to vote for the nominees - handpicked by a jury panel of local gaming experts in each of their categories - in five categories representing players from the most popular game genres. The voting period will end on July 6, 2022. One deserving winner will be crowned the ‘talabat Great Gamer of the Year’ during the show on July 16th, 2022, which will be live-streamed on multiple platforms.In Qatar, talabat collaborates with e-Sports gaming master Ahmed Al Meghessib, a member of the Qatar Football Association, on the Great Gamers initiative. At only 19 years old, the young Qatari made his FIFA interactive World Cup debut and quickly established himself as one of the region’s top FIFA players at PSG Sports. Qatar has emerged as a major e-Sports destination, with a growing trend of becoming a regional hub for e-Gamers.Francisco Miguel de Sousa, Managing Director of talabat Qatar, commented on the announcement, saying, ‘It is very exciting for us to be a part of the eSports world, and to launch talabat’s first-ever Gaming Awards show in the region.’ This is one of the areas we’ve recently taken a keen interest in, and it represents yet another opportunity for us to highlight and recognise regional talent.”“With a push of a button, players can conveniently place their orders using the talabat app before their game begins, and have it reliably delivered by the time they finish!
