To mark the World Physiotherapy Day 2023, the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), in association with Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar (IPFQ), hosted an enlightening ‘Physiotherapy Workshop’ at IICC Kanjani Hall. The event brought together community leaders, physiotherapy experts and enthusiastic participants to shed light on the significance of physiotherapy in our daily lives.
The workshop commenced with an address by ICBF President Shanavas Bava and was formally inaugurated by ICBF Coordinating Officer and First Secretary, Embassy of India, Dr. Vaibhav Tandale, who was the chief guest of the event. Speaking on the event’s theme “Reduce Pain, Recover Quickly, Rebuild Strength”, Dr. Tandale highlighted the critical role of physiotherapy in enhancing overall well-being and commended ICBF for their commitment to organising such informative gatherings.
Mohammed Shafi, President of IPFQ, in his felicitation speech, commended the collaborative efforts of ICBF and IPFQ in raising awareness about physiotherapy within the community.
The workshop included informative sessions led by skilled physiotherapists. PT. Arun Christopher provided insights into common mistakes individuals make in their daily lives and shared valuable do’s and don’ts for a healthier lifestyle. PT. Priyank Jain engaged the audience with practical stretches and exercises, creating an atmosphere of both learning and entertainment.
ICBF General Secretary, Varkey Boban, expertly coordinated the event, ensuring its seamless execution and smooth flow. The vote of thanks was delivered by Treasurer Kuldeep Kour, who expressed gratitude to all involved in making the event a success.
The workshop’s formal inauguration was marked by cake-cutting ceremony, featuring the chief guest, members of ICBF and IPFQ managing committees, as well as prominent community leaders.
The event received additional support from dedicated MC members including Zareena Ahad, Shankar Goud, Abdul Raoof Kondotty, as well as IPFQ MC members Muhammed Hussain Vanimel and Biju Nirmal.
In attendance were ISC President E P Abdulrahman, ICC Vice President Subbramanya Hebbagalu, ICC General Secretary Mohan Kumar, and ICBF advisory council members Harish Kanjani and Shahidar Hebbal.
One of the attendees, Joji George, expressed enthusiasm for the practical stretches presented during the workshop, emphasising their accessibility for daily use, even in an office setting.
ICBF and IPFQ remain steadfast in their commitment to fostering health awareness and community well-being, and this workshop on World Physiotherapy Day 2023 stands as a testament to their dedication.
