ENTERTAINMENT City, the hub of Qatar Summer Festival (QSF), came alive with a wide range of colourful activities during the first two days of Eid Al Adha celebrations. A majority of visitors - families from different nationalities and their children - have a variety of activities to enjoy during the Eid holidays.
The QSF is organised by Qatar Tourism Authority and the Entertainment City is manned by QSports.
The Entertainment City has been attracting thousands of visitors since the beginning of its events in June. The QSF is slated to continue until September 5. Daily activities start at 2pm at the Entertainment City in the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
At the Entertainment City, from toddlers to adults, the entire family had an enjoyable and an eventful outing on Friday and Saturday. And the footfalls are expected to rise as the festive venue enters its final week of activities.
There are attractive games such as baby car racing, Mickey basketball, inflatables, face painting, bricklyn Lego, skill games, virtual reality and arcade games, among many others.
James from the UK, who brought his son and daughter to the Entertainment City, told Qatar Tribune that visiting the City was his way of treating his children before they return to school after a long summer recess.
"I just wanted to treat my children before they return to school on September 10. They have been away for summer and its good they get to experience the Entertainment City before the festival concludes," he said.
His children enjoyed several games whose prices were between QR5 and QR50.
Another family from Egypt was enjoying the different fun-filled offerings at the City."We decided to come here on the first day of Eid Al Adha because this is a nice way of celebrating the festival with the family. There are several games here for children under one roof. My children rode the London bus. They also had fun at the candy cart, and then had their face painted. The children had real fun, there's no doubt about that," said Yasmine, who came with her children.
Yasmine added that she had not visited the Entertainment City since its opening and so wanted her children to enjoy the activities before the venue closes on September 5.
A musical chair competition whereby two winners got tickets to enjoy with their families at Aqua Park also attracted many visitors."Thank you mum and dad for bringing me here," shouted one of the winning participants.
