DOHA: The Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a warning regarding low horizontal visibility in various parts of the country until 6pm on Wednesday.

According to the department's daily weather report, the weather inshore is expected to be misty to foggy in some areas, with hot daytime conditions and the possibility of local cloud formation.

The report highlights that residents and travelers should exercise caution due to the anticipated poor visibility in certain locations at times.

Inshore, the wind will initially be variable, less than 5 knots, before shifting to northwesterly to northeasterly winds at speeds ranging from 5 to 15 knots, occasionally gusting to 20 knots during the daytime.

Offshore, conditions will be hazy intermittently with scattered clouds. Wind patterns offshore are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 5 to 15 knots.

Visibility is projected to range from 4 to 8 kilometers, with some areas experiencing visibility as low as 2 kilometers or even less initially.

The sea state inshore is predicted to have wave heights of 1 to 3 feet, while offshore areas may experience slightly higher waves, ranging from 2 to 4 feet.

These conditions could impact maritime activities and sea travel, and individuals are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and take necessary precautions.

Residents and commuters are urged to stay informed about changing weather conditions and follow any additional updates or alerts issued by the Qatar Meteorology Department to ensure their safety during this period of reduced horizontal visibility.
