DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of poor horizontal visibility in Qatar, as the country experiences humid and misty conditions, evolving into hazy weather with some clouds.

According to the daily weather report released by the Department of Meteorology, the weather inshore until 6pm on Monday is expected to be humid and misty, with the possibility of foggy conditions in some areas.

As the day progresses, temperatures are expected to rise, with the presence of intermittent clouds. Motorists and residents are urged to exercise caution due to the expected poor horizontal visibility, especially during the morning hours.

Offshore conditions are also anticipated to be misty initially, later transitioning into hazier conditions with occasional cloud cover.

Wind patterns are expected to shift, with inshore winds starting as variable at less than 3 knots before becoming predominantly northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 3-13 knots. Offshore, the winds will be mainly northeasterly to easterly, blowing at speeds of 3-12 knots.

In terms of visibility, inshore areas may experience visibility ranging from 4 to 8 kilometers, with some places likely to have visibility as low as 2 kilometers during the initial hours. Offshore, visibility is also expected to vary, ranging from 4 to 8 kilometers, with certain areas likely to witness visibility as low as 3 kilometers during the initial period.

The sea state is forecasted to be relatively calm, with inshore sea conditions ranging from 1 to 2 feet and offshore sea conditions varying between 1 to 3 feet.

Residents and those planning to travel in Qatar are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and exercise caution while driving, particularly during the early hours when visibility may be significantly reduced.
