DOHA: Minister of Transport HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Aviation of the Bahamas HE Isaac Chester Cooper, signed on Monday an air services agreement between the State of Qatar and Bahamas.

The agreement comes in the context of connecting Qatar with air services agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world.

Following the signing ceremony, Al Sulaiti held talks with Cooper, Minister for Grand Bahama HE Ginger Moxey, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources HE Zane Lightbourne and discussed aspects of Qatari-Bahamian cooperation in the areas of transportation, civil aviation, marine navigation and ports, and ways to further develop them.

The meeting discussed avenues of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in transport and communications, civil aviation, maritime navigation, and ports, in addition to discussing avenues to strengthen and upgrade them.
