DOHA: The Qatar Chamber hosted on Monday the Qatari-Romanian Business Meeting via video conferencing to explore ways to enhance commercial and economic cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.

The meeting was attended by numerous businessmen from various sectors, including food, agriculture, IT, industry, renewable energy, and more, representing Qatar and Romania.

Participants in the forum stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation relations between the private sectors in the two countries, which contributes to increasing trade exchange and motivating business owners to establish joint and reciprocal projects.

During the webinar, QC board member Dr Khalid bin Klefeekh Al Hajri emphasized the strong and diverse relations between Qatar and Romania across various fields. He highlighted the shared commitment from both sides to strengthen their commercial and economic ties.

The bilateral trade volume between the two countries surged by 32 percent, increasing from QR371mn in 2021 to QR490mn in 2022, he said.

Al Hajri pointed out that Qatari businessmen are keen to explore Romania's investment climate and opportunities, particularly given the incentives and facilities that make Romania an attractive destination for foreign investors.

He invited Romanian companies to invest in Qatar and cooperate with Qatari counterparts, affirming that Qatar provides a world-class infrastructure, leading economic legislation, an attractive investment climate, in addition to numerous incentives and opportunities, positioning it as a leading business and investment hub.
For her part, Chairman of the Timis Chamber of Commerce and Industry Florica Chirita said that the meeting presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Qatari and Romanian businessmen.
She highlighted that Timis offers abundant investment opportunities across various economic sectors, including banking, education, technology, and the automobile industry.

She emphasized the significance of facilitating visits by business delegations from both sides to explore investment opportunities in each country and explore the potential for establishing partnerships across various sectors.

Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Romania HE Osama Yousef Al Qaradawi emphasized that the private sectors in both Qatar and Romania have the capability to elevate trade levels by exploring investment opportunities and establishing joint ventures, expressing his aspiration for the meeting to be a starting point for increasing cooperation between the private sectors in the two countries, stressing the role of the Qatar Chamber in enhancing and developing trade cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Mohammed Al Mulla, investor relations specialist at the Investment Promotion Agency in Qatar, gave a presentation from the Investment Promotion Agency in Qatar about the investment environment in the country, and the financial incentives and facilities it provides to investors.

During the meeting, a presentation was also given on investment in Romania entitled "10 Reasons for Establishing Business in Timis", during which a number of the investment advantages of the region were reviewed, including the good location and infrastructure represented by a transportation and road network, and the qualified workforce, as well as the incentives it provides to foreign investors and the support of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Timis.
