Qatar University (QU), represented by the College of Engineering, and Vistas Global Company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in academic, research, and professional fields, as well as to support students.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, dean of the College of Engineering, and Suraj Thampi, CEO of Vistas Global, in the presence of representatives from both parties. The signing of the memorandum stems from the mutual desire of both parties to develop and strengthen their cooperation, leveraging their shared capabilities in education and training. They have also agreed to provide all possible assistance within the defined scopes of each party to achieve these goals in a manner that fulfils the role of each.

Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, dean of the College of Engineering, commented, "This partnership supports expanding communication channels between the College of Engineering with the local and global private sectors, promoting the transition to a knowledge-based economy. It opens opportunities for companies to expand partnerships with specialized faculty members in scientific research, organizes various events, and launches various initiatives that serve all participants and benefit Qatar and its society as a whole.”

He added, "This memorandum facilitates the transfer of knowledge and technology in service of the university and the community, deepening the relationship with the local and industrial sector towards further cooperation and mutual interaction that supports the educational process and students.”

Suraj Thampi, CEO of Vistas Global commented, "We are excited about the prospects of this partnership whereby we are able to leverage the capabilities of the Qatar University, College of Engineering and formulate lucrative business models that effectively tackle industry gaps and capitalize on opportunities.”
