MUSCAT: The Amiri Guard concluded on Wednesday the joint exercise ‘Ain Al Saqr-1’ with the Royal Guard of Oman, as part of the ongoing cooperation between the two sides in the military field.

The exercise took place from Sept 17-27 in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, under the patronage and attendance of the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth in the Sultanate of Oman HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said.

The closing of the exercise was attended by Commander of the Amiri Guard HE Lieutenant-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani and Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman Major General Salem Ali Al Hosni along with several senior officers from both the Amir Guard and the Royal Guard of Oman.

The Commander of the Amir Guard witnessed a final field presentation of the exercise, which included a series of scenarios that showcased the high skills acquired by the trainees throughout the exercise and reflected their high combat preparation.

Exercise ‘Ain Al Saqr-1’ aimed to test security plans and procedures for the protection of VIPs, measure readiness, assess the level of Qatari-Omani joint coordination and fieldwork, and develop and enhance the capabilities and capacities of the participants by exposing them to various expertise in the field of modern military tactics related to personal protection, counterterrorism, and the development of training methods suitable for the nature of tasks and duties, raising efficiency and readiness levels.

Director of the exercise Brigadier-General Mubarak Msahi Mohamed Al Ahbabi emphasized that the exercise included a set of carefully prepared scenarios that simulated real-life events, with the goal of handling emergency situations, imparting new military skills to participants, testing coordination and fieldwork levels.

He noted that the exercise is part of joint cooperation with the Royal Guard of Oman, aimed at enhancing the distinguished relations between the two sisterly countries.

He explained that the final presentation of the exercise demonstrated the high competence and combat spirit of the members of the Amir Guard and the Royal Guard of Oman. He commended the outstanding level displayed by the participants in the exercise from both sides, as they demonstrated high combat readiness.

The exercise included a series of theoretical and field training sessions related to counterterrorism tactics. The closing presentation featured several field segments that reflected the outstanding level of the trainees, showcasing their skills, capabilities, and high combat spirit.

It also demonstrated the high level of cooperation and coordination among the participants in executing tasks effectively and dealing optimally with unexpected events.

HE Lieutenant-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani praised the advanced level and high readiness displayed by the participants in the closing presentation of exercise ‘Ain Al Saqr 1’ both at the individual and collective levels, as well as their discipline and coordination during the field performance.
