MES students bagged the first runner-up position in the Qatar Cluster Taekwondo Competition hosted by Ideal Indian School, from September 23 to 25. The event was a precursor to the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship.
MES competed across various categories, viz. under 14, 17, and 19, for both boys and girls. The MES students returned with an impressive medal tally of nine gold medals, 21 silver medals, and 18 bronze medals. A total of 30 students have qualified for the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship, which will be held in India.
The names of the students who have qualified for the nationals are: Albin John, Ashkar Muhammed, Abid Ibn Mohamed, Fanar Mohammad, Mohammad Shadman Jawad, Kritharth Joseph Abraham, Mohamed Aadhil, Mohammad Shanavaz, Sayed Jaafar, Zahin Yashin Hussain, Sam Allen Smith Rajan, Muhammed Shibili Muringoli, Sachin Senthil Murugan, Hope Nibu Vallooran, Ibrahim Qays, Marvel Abraham Ranjith, Olivia Mariam Johnson, Afrah Usman Aboobacker, Hanna Ann Roy, Amarapini Poojitha, Kripa Clara Abraham, Daneen Shoib Ali Zaidi, Reema Rasheed, Denica Jane Machado, Dhwani Sunil Nair, Anjaly Penuel. Suhana Haseef, Jaza Jasmin, Lana Basheer and Haya Shameer.
School Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar congratulated the triumphant students and their coaches, Mohammed Nawaz and Mariam Sameer for their hard work, commitment, and sportsmanship in the preparation for the competition.
