Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar HE Prof Ramesh Prasad Koirala has called on Nepali community members and Qatari businessmen to explore the potential trade and business opportunities between Nepal and Qatar.
The ambassador was addressing a select gathering of Nepali expatriates on the occasion of Nepal's National Day at Holiday Inn Doha on Tuesday.
Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi and Director of the Department of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Ambassador Ibrahim Yusuf Fakro attended the event, along with several diplomats and dignitaries.
Mentioning some of the key areas for possible investments in Nepal, Prof Koirala said,"Hydroelectric power generation and tourism are among the lucrative areas where foreign investors can reap good returns. Qatar can play a major role in these sectors as an investment partner."
He also pointed out the presence of Mount Everest in Nepal, the highest peak in the Himalayan ranges that attracts tourists from all across the globe."Nepal can be a nice destination for people of this region to enjoy the beauty of its mountain ranges and try adventure sports such as hiking and mountaineering," he noted.
Nepal is also well known for its human resource potential and Qatar is an important beneficiary of the resource with employing around 450,000 Nepalis, Prof Koirala added.
The event concluded with a ceremonial cake cutting and dinner.
